Episode 8 / June 13 2008
We are nearly at the end of the first season of the Big Arena Records Podcast. There are only two more to go after this week - the last and tenth one will be online in a fortnight marking the official release of Electric Baby Grand – and I must say that I will be chomping at the bit to do some more in the future, possibly even making them a regular feature. The feedback from listeners has been remarkable and I am truly honoured to have had so many encouraging and sincere comments.
This week, it’s episode 8 and I’m singing It’s All Coming True, another punky stomper. I put my acoustic guitar to one side for this - I felt it needed more electricity.
It’s All Coming True is an upbeat little number with a very optimistic sentiment in the lyrics. It originally had a fourth verse wherein everything goes wrong for the couple depicted in the first three verses, with fate transforming them from hopeful dreamers into star-crossed lovers. I left it out in the end, feeling I was being too cruel to them. I think it’s a better song because of that.
