I See Dumb People / January 21 2008

As I was coming out of the Co-op today, I bumped into Reg, the aquatic troubleshooter, and I must say, my opinion of the fellow has changed.

After standing and chatting to him for a few minutes this morning, I realised that he is in fact a comedy genius.

He had noticed that I was becoming intensely annoyed by someone in front of me who had a shopping-trolley full to the brim with red meat and marshmallows. It was an obese young couple who were waddling along at a slug’s pace, seemingly intent on blocking my path. Moving closer to me, Ref whispered conspiratorially, ‘I know how you feel; people are annoying, aren’t they – you and me against the world, brother. Look at this . . .’

He opened his jacket and I half expected to see a semi-concealed Samurai sword tucked into his trousers but he merely wanted to show me his t-shirt. Emblazoned in big letters across his chest, it said: I See Dumb People. ‘I want one!’ I told him.

Before I said cheerio to my new friend, he told me a joke. ‘Did you hear the one about the two chickens who were walking along the side of the road?’ he asked me. ‘One said to the other: “Why don’t you cross over to the other side?” “Nah,” said the other chicken, “We’ll never hear the end of it.”’

Comedy gold.

That would be a great T Shirt.

It is a great t-shirt. Wish I knew where to get one from.
