Morrissey: Nil Points / February 25 2007

I must say that I am very disappointed to hear that former Smiths singer Morrissey will not after all be involved with the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. In January, the BBC said it was talking to the singer to write and possibly perform a Eurovision track but now says he ‘definitely will not’ be involved.

I think it is a real shame – it was a capital idea. It would have been great fun to see the Mighty Moz prancing around like an English terrier with his dander up, he-he-he-ing and ha-ha-ha-ing all over the stage on the glitzy night of the contest. Maybe next year…

I agree, the BBC have missed a golden opportunity here. Its almost as if they are actively trying to make sure the competition stays an object of ridicule.

Well now that former Darkness singer Justin Hawkins is confirmed as the possible UK entrant, that’s not gonna happen is it? (Note heavy sarcasm)
