Don’t Dream It’s Over / January 25 2007
I was so happy to hear that Crowded House are to reform for a world tour. As anyone who knows me will be aware, I am a big fan. I can’t wait to see them, although drummer Paul Hestor, who committed suicide in 2005 after battling depression, will be sadly missed.
It seems to be Reformation Season as several other bands are following Neil Finn’s example.
Also getting back together are erstwhile UK indie darlings James, controversial rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain are warming up their feedback for a Californian festival in April, as are thrash-rockers Rage Against the Machine – not such good news.
But by far the most exciting (and indeed culturally valuable) rebirth, is that of husky welsh songstress Bonnie Tyler who is releasing a new mix (with BabyPink) of 80s classic Total Eclipse of the Heart next week, a track that Enormous have been known to cover in their live shows from time to time.
Turn around, bright eyes.
