Enormous Fratellis / December 11 2006
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how The Fratellis sound like Enormous? I do think they are a very good band but I can’t help thinking that they had had a good few listens of the Enormous album Almost Everything before they started writing some of their newer songs.
I’m not complaining, we all share ideas here in popland, just thought I’d mention it is all. Check out their Chelsea Dagger, doesn’t half remind me of My Type, that one. And they must have been listening to Been Around by Enormous before they sat down to write Whistle For The Choir. Put me off them a bit that has.
It says here in this magazine I’m reading, ‘The Fratellis… …a band that’s difficult to ignore.’
I do love a challenge.

I agree. I’ve listened to your samples on the Enormous Reloaded website and those swines have ripped off your sound. And congratualtions on a great putdown. I’ll do my best to ignore the frutellas as well. Stupid name for a band if ever there was one, they’ve named themsevles after a damned chewy fruit sweet for crying out loud. Plagerism is still alive and kicking in the UK music industry. For shame.

I thought ‘fratelli’ was an ice cream or is it an omelette??
I think the band is Scottish … still … this is no excuse.
They also have very bad hair-doo’s.
The guys in Enormous, have great hair!

Hey, don’t misunderstand me, I honestly think that they are a good band. I was just pointing out the similarities between their sound and that of Enormous. As songwriters, I think we’ve both been listening to too much Kinks and Small Faces. Again, I do rather like them. (Spit!)
