Enormous set-list / September 25 2006
I’ve just had a peek at the list of songs that Enormous (www.enormousreloaded.com) are currently rehearsing for their live shows later in the year.
Obviously, the running order isn’t presently set in stone but I can inform you that it features tunes from all three Enormous albums Electric Baby Grand, Situation:Comedy and Almost Everything as well as new material like Pretty Little Painkiller, my all-time favourite Davy Lawrence song Something In My Heart and, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, a cover of the Burt Bacharach standard Be Different. I can’t wait to hear that, chaps!
I was also faintly startled to learn that the running order also includes cover versions of two old Slaughterhouse 5 songs - the band that Davy Lawrence and Graham Boffey were in before they formed Enormous. These are Inconvenience and Really Start to Happen. (The latter is available as a free download from the Sh5 website www.slaughterhouse5.co.uk when you subscribe to the Sh5 Fanclub.) I can’t wait to hear those old classics especially when I try to imagine what wonderful brassy hooks the Enormous Horns are gonna be plastering all over them. Marvellous!
Right, as it’s a lovely sunny day, I think I’ll venture towards my favourite local saloon and fortify myself with a popular brand of alcoholic beverage.
