Did you see the new sh5 website www.slaughterhouse5.co.uk?
those guys never achieved the success they deserved when they released Wide Open on IRS to such wide-spread critical acclaim about 10 years ago. I just read some of the reviews and features on the Reviews page that they got in the US and UK music press. And I notice that if you sign up to their fanclub, you get yourself 2 free tracks amongst other things.
My favourite song of theirs was Pathetic Girlfriend, which I remember rushing out and buying on its release way back then in that hot hot summer of ‘93 after I’d read the write-up in the NME. In this correspondent’s humble opinion, their album really was a ‘lost classic’ (as it says on the Ultimate Band List website) and it’s great to see them releasing a Best Of… now that Big Arena Records has picked up their back catalogue.
